O.R.
- Cases are presented to the Bail Commissioner for pretrial release
daily. Releases take place some time after 7:00pm.
S.O.R.
- When placed on Supervised O.R. it is the defendant's responsibility
to keep in contact with the O. R. Project as ordered by the Court
until the case is resolved. Failure to comply with a court order
may result in O.R. status revocation and the defendant could be
remanded into custody by the Court.
Attorney
Requests - Defendants who have been denied release at arraignment
may be considered for release at a future court date. For the O.R.
Project to present a case in court, an attorney must make a request
at least 48 hours in advance of the desired date and have the defendant
call the O.R. Project.
Surrenders
- With certain charges, a person may clear an outstanding District
Attorney's warrant through the O. R. Project process. A pre-approved
O.R. release allows the defendant to self-surrender and avoid overnight
jail detention. Unless otherwise arranged, court is always the following
business day.
Court
Reminder Calls - The O.R. Project attempts to call 24 to 48 hours
in advance of a court date to remind defendants to appear in court.
F.T.A.'s
- It is important to make all court appearances. If you find you
will be late, call the O.R. Project immediately. If you cannot make
your court appearance, call your attorney who may be able to appear
for you. If you fail to appear without making arrangements, a bench
warrant will be issued for your arrest. Call the O.R. project as
soon as possible for instructions on how to add back to calendar
and clear a bench warrant.
