citY!

A Community Partnership
Supervisor Matt Gonzalez
Department Of Public Works
San Francisco Pretrial Diversion Project, Inc.

The Community Involvement Team Yes! (citY!) joined forces with Supervisor Matt Gonzalez and the Department of Public works in February 2001.  Over 700 community service hours have been performed in District 5 and other neighborhoods. Through the San Francisco Pretrial Diversion Project, Inc. and its Project 20 and Project 22 programs, participants can work off fines and court obligations through visible community improvement projects.

Using equipment and supplies provided by DPW, the citY! crew removes graffiti on mail and utility boxes, paint over “tagged” storefronts and trash cans.  They also pick up trash, sweep sidewalks and install dog litter bag holders.
